The Tailors Son....
Fuckin Fogetttttabout it..🤌🏽🤌🏽
It was difficult to find the flaws with this experience. Food was exceptional and deserves 6 stars, value absolutely absurd with 5 stars, service 4.5 stars, drinks & ambiance 4 stars a piece.

Who the fuck serves a fried meatball... nobody.

A true taste of Northern Italy 🇮🇹 that leaves you feeling like you have been transported to Tuscany with hand made Agnolotti and fresh filled cannolis to the face.
I'm Contacting open table immediately to reserve my next table, I suggest you do too. Capeesch. 👌🏽

Steven Says:

Every dish was impressive without exception. It inspired me to rush home and attempt making my own homemade pasta, although I doubt I ever will. Their clever choice to enhance each dish with multiple sources of Umami was truly masterful. Take, for example, the RIGATONCINI: pork ragu, anchovy, chard, sofritto, parsley, pecorino. Who would have thought of that combination? I'm eager to return and sample everything on the menu.

Ambiance and Setting

Walking into The Tailor’s Son feels like stepping into a chic Milanese trattoria with its bright, airy space. The design is modern yet timeless, with high ceilings, large windows that flood the room with natural light, and a sleek, open kitchen that draws you into the action. The dark wooden tables, white marble accents, and warm lighting create an inviting yet upscale ambiance. The mix of contemporary and classic design elements reflects the restaurant's approach to its menu—traditional yet with a modern edge.

The Menu

The Tailor’s Son features a menu that highlights the fresh, bold flavors of Northern Italy, focusing on seasonal produce and local ingredients. The dishes have a lightness and freshness that is characteristic of California cuisine but stay true to the soul of Italian cooking.

Starters

Start your meal with the "Fritto Misto," a beautifully light and crispy mix of calamari, shrimp, and seasonal vegetables, perfectly fried and served with a bright, tangy lemon aioli. Another standout appetizer is the "Burrata," served with seasonal tomatoes, basil, and drizzled with olive oil. The creaminess of the burrata, paired with the sweetness of the tomatoes, makes for a simple yet exquisite dish that reflects the kitchen's skill in balancing flavors.

Pasta and Risotto

The Tailor’s Son excels at its house-made pastas. The "Tagliatelle Bolognese," made with a rich meat sauce, is a classic executed with precision, while the "Agnolotti di Zucca," small pasta pockets filled with roasted butternut squash, ricotta, and sage butter, offers a perfect mix of sweetness and earthy richness.
The risotto options are also a key feature. The "Risotto Milanese," saffron-infused and luxuriously creamy, is a nod to classic Northern Italian cuisine, while the "Risotto al Funghi" is an ode to local, seasonal mushrooms, bringing an earthy depth to the dish that feels warm and comforting.

Mains

For the main course, the "Branzino" is a standout. This Mediterranean sea bass is simply grilled, letting its delicate flavor shine, served with a seasonal vegetable medley and a light lemon-herb dressing. The "Pollo alla Diavola" offers a bit more heat, with roasted chicken seasoned with chilies, garlic, and herbs, and served with crispy potatoes and sautéed greens—an excellent choice for those who enjoy bold, rustic flavors.

Sides and Vegetables

A variety of side dishes showcase the fresh produce of California. The "Grilled Asparagus" with shaved Parmesan and lemon zest is a perfect, simple companion to any meal, while the "Patate al Forno," crispy roasted potatoes with rosemary, provide a hearty, satisfying crunch.

Desserts

The dessert menu is small but well-crafted. The "Tiramisu" is light, creamy, and perfectly balanced, with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream. For something a little different, the "Olive Oil Cake," served with a citrus compote and whipped cream, is a beautifully moist, subtly sweet treat that offers a delightful end to the meal.

Beverage Program

The Tailor’s Son also offers an impressive wine list, with a focus on Italian varietals, alongside local Californian wines. The cocktail program is equally strong, with drinks like the "Negroni Sbagliato" providing a refreshing take on the classic cocktail, and the "Aperol Spritz" offering a light, effervescent start to your meal. There’s a strong emphasis on balance, with each drink designed to complement the food rather than overpower it.

Service

Service at The Tailor’s Son is polished but warm, with knowledgeable staff who are eager to share insights into the menu and suggest pairings. The pace of the meal feels relaxed, allowing diners to savor each dish without feeling rushed, yet attentive enough that you are never left waiting too long between courses.

Overall Experience

The Tailor’s Son is a restaurant that beautifully combines the essence of Northern Italian cooking with the bounty of California’s seasonal ingredients. It manages to feel both sophisticated and relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a special night out or a casual weekday dinner. Whether you’re in the mood for perfectly crafted pasta or simply want to indulge in Italian flavors with a fresh California twist, The Tailor’s Son offers a dining experience that feels timeless yet exciting.
